What this site stores in your browser, which providers we use and how to change your choices.
Last updated: 8 November 2026
Cookies, local storage and session storage keep information in your browser. This page explains their use on Tax Free Childcare Calculator. See our privacy notice for how personal information is handled.
Optional analytics and advertising start only after you allow their category. Reject all keeps them off and the calculator still works. You can change your choice using Cookie settings in the footer or the button below.
Turning a category off stops new collection, clears its accessible first-party storage and reloads the page to stop previously loaded scripts. A reload clears calculator entries. Browser controls can also remove cookies held directly by third-party domains, which this site cannot delete itself.
We remember your consent choices so we can respect them. This storage is always enabled and is used only to manage your choices. Calculator entries are held in the current page; we do not save them in cookies or local storage.
With Analytics enabled, PostHog records page visits, browser and session identifiers, and referral information. Session recording and automatic form tracking are disabled. Vercel Web Analytics measures page visits and Vercel Speed Insights measures loading speed and page performance. Vercel’s analytics tools do not use analytics cookies. We still include them in your Analytics choice. Calculator values and the disability selection are not included in our analytics events.
Read PostHog’s privacy policy, Vercel Web Analytics privacy information and Vercel Speed Insights privacy information.
With Ads and marketing enabled, Google AdSense can show, personalise and measure advertising. Google may receive your IP address, page URL, browser information and advertising identifiers. Google Tag Manager may also be used to load Google advertising tags when enabled. These services are blocked when you reject this category.
Google controls which advertising cookies are used, depending on the ad and your browser. Read Google’s cookie list, how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s privacy policy.
| Category and provider | Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your consent choices | gtfcc-cookie-consent-v2 in local storage | Records which categories you accept or reject, when you chose and the notice version. | Valid for 180 days. We ask again after that or when the purposes change. Local storage has no automatic browser expiry; an old record is replaced when you make a new choice. |
| PostHog analytics | ph_*_posthog cookie and local storage; __ph_opt_in_out_* local storage | Recognises a browser and links consented page visits and referral information. These identifiers can still be personal data. | Cookie: up to 180 days, renewed during consented use. Local storage is removed on withdrawal, or on your next visit without valid analytics consent. |
| PostHog session information | ph_* entries in session storage, including window and session IDs | Groups consented activity within a browser session. | Until the tab or browser session ends, or earlier when analytics consent is withdrawn. |
| Google advertising | Cookies such as __gads and __gpi | Ad delivery, personalisation and measurement after you allow Ads and marketing. | Google lists durations of up to 13 months for these cookies. Our consent lasts 180 days and withdrawing marketing permission clears accessible first-party advertising storage. |
| Google advertising security | __eoi cookie | Helps detect invalid advertising traffic. We gate advertising security storage behind Ads and marketing consent too. | Up to 6 months, according to Google's cookie information, or earlier when accessible first-party storage is cleared on withdrawal. |
| Google local storage | Entries beginning goog_ or google_, such as goog_pem_mod | Supports advertising when Ads and marketing is allowed. | Local storage has no automatic browser expiry. We clear these entries on withdrawal or your next visit without valid marketing consent. |
The Preferences category currently stores no additional site preferences. We will explain any new use and ask for a fresh choice before introducing it.
